In 1998 BRAUN has supplied 2 abrasive cut-off machine cut-off machines for ingot conditioning at Carpenter’s facility in Reading/PA.

The equipment is still running and fulfill customers’ requirements to their satisfaction.

Now, after 26 years of successful operating the customer decide to upgrade the con­trols of the existing BRAUN abrasive cut-off machines at including but not limited to the design, fabrication, programming, documentation, testing, and management of in­stallation and commissioning.

The Electric drives and controls (Level 1 Automation) the HMI - Human machine inter­faces with control desks will be updated.

Furthermore, an IBA PDA System and an engineering workstation PC with project spe­cific application software complete the scop of supply and services.

The mechanical modification is just limited to adjust the material clamping system to the changed material dimensions.

The equipment will be delivered in April 2025. Supervision of modification, re-commis­sion­ing, and ac­ceptance tests are scheduled for the second quarter of 2025.
